High School Musical: Top 6

Darren and Lorri say adios and leave behind 3 girls and 3 boys who are in competition to take on the roles of Gabriella and Troy in the High School Musical theater production.

Daniel, Lorri, Tsephi and Darren received the fewest votes this week and they each had to perform a song from the Disney Original movie High School Musical 2. The guys sang "Every Day" and the girls "You Are The Music In Me".

Producer Pieter Toerien said that Hazel and he would be delighted to have any of the eight in the show, and then turned his attention to Lorri. He commented that she was "a typical Disney leading lady type, but Gabriella is not a typical Disney leading lady role." So he saved Tsephi. He said Daniel had particularly impressed the Creative Panel with his progress, "so I’m going to take the easy way out and exactly follow the viewers’ vote – which means Daniel is safe." This marks the second time that both Daniel and Tsephi are saved by Toerien.

In a surprise twist Toerien turned his attention to Darren, "thinking this might happen, we've considered the possibility of another role for you. We want to offer you the role of Ryan, and we hope you’ll accept."

The Ryan character is the antagonist and is considered the second male lead in the show. The second female lead character is that of Sharpay, Ryan's sister – so it begs the question, will one of the remaining three girls be cast as Sharpay?
