Crazy lesbian fantasies

Email · Print

I've never really found lesbians very sexy. I know. I must be some kind of freak.

Maybe it's because I grew up with one, so I actually know the difference between a real-life - as opposed to a made-for-TV - lesbian. Just for the record, the real ones sometimes talk about things other than lesbianism, and look distinctly unexcited if a guy walks into the room while they're making out. Especially if he's your girlfriend's brother. And holding a video camera. Naked. But enough about some other guy who's totally not me because I just made him up.

This upbringing, and the fact that I've had lots of lesbian friends, bisexual girlfriends and lesbian one night stands (long story) is probably the reason why I like penises in my porn.  In fact, I pretty much insist on them. You see, I need a penis to hang on to. Wait, that came out wrong.... I mean, I prefer the presence of penises so I can project myself into the fantasy – which is the entire object of the exercise.

I'd even argue that penises are *more* important in straight male porn than intimate female parts. Many straight men would think there was nothing at all gay in watching little more than a woman's head and a man's chub-on for hours and hours and hours until they finally cry themselves to sleep at their keyboard.

There's no fun in porn if you can't imagine yourself being there – and personally, I can't picture myself in a lesbian scene, because I simply don't feel like I've been invited. They usually seem to be doing pretty well for themselves without my bubonic contribution.

So while watching lesbian scenes, I usually end up – out of sheer politeness – fantasising that I'm sitting alone in the next room, getting drunk - which, as it happens, is sometimes exactly what I was actually doing in real life. Have that particular experience, guys, and I guarantee you'll know the true meaning of an existential crisis.

The only reason lesbian scenes even exist in straight porn is because of its audience of uneducated men who fantasise that if they were there in real life, they could walk in and join the action. It's a socially invalid, patriarchal fantasy born of sheer ignorance and bigotry, that could only exist in a world where men think they can change everything by pulling out their prick.

This mindset is directly responsible for the frequent oppression and violence against lesbians. Right here in South Africa, there are regular incidents of lesbians being raped – even gang-raped – by men with magical, preference-altering cocks. Do I even need to tell you that this is an attitude that needs to change? Oh, good.

Then I think we can all come to the same conclusion: our arts and culture minister, Lulu Xingwana should not only be fired immediately, but also dragged through the streets by flatulent ponies so that the rest of us can throw rotting vegetables at her until she dies from her own stupidity.

In vilifying the Innovative Women art exhibition, ostensibly for featuring relatively tame images of female couples by lesbian artists, Xingwana insidiously supports this continued oppression and the ignorant perceptions inherent in the basest pornography.

Isn't it weird how the moral morons and the slimiest mass media coalesce on certain issues, especially when it comes to anything queer? I'd bet my left nut (well, a friend's left nut, anyway) that if the now-controversial images had featured heterosexual couples in exactly the same poses and states of undress, most of us wouldn't have even heard about the exhibition.

So by being the stone-age bigot she is, Xingwana has perhaps achieved her greatest accomplishment in promoting arts and culture in South Africa since she weaselled her way into office. Ordinarily, I wouldn't have given this exhibition a second glance, it being a lesbian thing and all. But by calling it "immoral, offensive and going against nation-building", Xingwana has inadvertently turned it into a human rights issue, and we should all be very, very interested indeed.

Now all that's left for Xingwana to do is to apologise, and sod off.

Is a person's sexual preference so important? Does it intrinsically affect who they are at the core? I don't believe that. I love this article. It's frank and funny and just once again points out that we have a bunch of idiots in high-ranking positions who are the ones deciding our future. Maybe it's time to toi-toi again, because I don't think we'll be able to sit around and watch our beautiful country go down like that. We need to eliminate the ignorance. We need to educate and then maybe the masses will vote better next time. For now, I'm afraid, we've gone back to the dark ages.
YTAH 3/10/2010 9:07 PM
Katman will write anything that he thinks might provoke a reaction (so I guess that’s mission accomplished then). But why is it that dubmasses (sic) feel the need to remind us, at every given opportunity, of how stupid they are? That’s almost as pretentious as Katman's comments. Just walk the walk, honey. Let other people describe you. Anyway, this is getting tired. Let's just leave it at I think you are a twat and you don't have the brains to realise that it's true.
Chris McEvoy 3/9/2010 10:05 AM
Pretty much everyone, even those who dislike my work, think I'm a lefty. I take it as neither a compliment or an insult. And stop pretending that you don't love me. You're my most fanatical stalker!
katman 3/8/2010 10:48 PM
A lefty viewpoint, Sarah? Don’t make me laugh. McEvoy will write anything that he thinks might provoke a reaction (so I guess that’s mission accomplished then). But I’m sure he thanks you for giving it the credibility of the “lefty” moniker. And why is it that you academics feel the need to remind us, at every given opportunity, of your political leanings? That’s almost as pretentious as this column. Just walk the walk, honey. Let other people describe you. Anyway, this is getting tired. Let's just leave it at I think your friend is a twat and you don't.
Sarah 3/8/2010 7:07 PM
Katman, you really do hate Chris, don't you? If it's not his content you're bashing, then it's his style. I don't read this column for 'gritty, in-your-face journalism'. I read it because it makes me laugh and because I like to see a lefty viewpoint in between all the mediocrity out there. If you want gritty journalism, why don't you go to the JOURNALISM section of a newspaper - they're usually called Political Review or Insight. This is a *humourous opinion column*. He's allowed to write and have fun with whatever he wants. Do you understand now, Katman? @ Elton - why don't at least give YOUR argument so I have something from you besides a lame ad hominem attack. Here, I'll help you: start by listing the main tenets of my argument and then dismantling each point. Not so hard, eh?
Elton 3/8/2010 12:42 PM
Sarah, god help us if you are a lecturer at a leading varsity! you argue like a child.
katman 3/8/2010 9:47 AM
Sarah, you certainly don’t behave like an academic at one of SA’s leading universities. And neither does McEvoy. Scary stuff indeed. I’m going to have to do my homework before I send my kids to varsity. And what was that rubbish about “exposing my cowardly self to public light to see who’s right”? Do you think I’m hiding behind a blog nic? Do you think calling yourself Sarah the academic puts you on some kind of moral high ground here? I think you’ve gone off on some indignant tangent and missed the point completely. I don’t hate lesbians. I don’t hate porn. I don’t hate intellectuals. And I don’t hate intellectuals who defend lesbian porn. That’s all hunky dory in the katman’s book. What I do dislike, however, is this blatant attention seeking masquerading as column writing. McEvoy hasn’t added any substance to what is actually quite a serious topic. All he’s done is make a few self-referencing risqué jokes and then ended off with a vulgar little rant. And you fell for what you thought was gritty, in-your-face journalism. I expect more from my academics, Sarah.
Zoltron 3/8/2010 9:05 AM
I have to congratulate arts and culture minister, Lulu Xingwana's abolishment of the provocative images. Chris McEvoy must be the best gayboy in disguise, enough with the babble.
Preshen govender 3/8/2010 7:30 AM
Do lesbian women eat Finger food?
Lockstock 3/7/2010 12:50 AM
@Sarah: It doesn't take much thought to throw out the dog-eared ol' race card when you're on your back foot in an argument. It's the trump-all card dealt from the bottom (very bottom) of the pack when your intellectual chips are down. You need to up your game, get a real argument, as well as a valid opinion on the matter. I have shown, step-by-painstaking-step, that there are clearly two different mindsets that fantasise about joining in on a threesome (figuratively turning them does not enter the fantasy equation, by-the-way), and collecting a few chums to commit a horrid deed in the name of cultural honour. You need to face up to your brethren's cultural failings if you're going to address this issue meaningfully, not throw out juvenile accusations because it offends your sensibilities.

"While the nationwide incidence of rape was showing a drastic decline, the incidence of rape in the four states having the least access to the internet showed an actual increase in rape over the same time period." - Anthony D’Amato1, 'porn up,rape down', 2008 @all of you, including Toram and Chris, stop being simple.
Toram Whitelace 3/7/2010 12:20 AM
@Chris : I typed up a lengthy retort, and then held down 'backspace'. If you really do lecture at a university, I pity anyone seeking a tertiary level education. You surely are the man described in "the talking asshole routine", besides sprouting nonsense from your ass, your eyes have obviously stopped working. @Sarah : If you have never heard of the phrase "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king", then I can understand why you wish to touch yourself to the mental masturbation of Chris.
Jack Sparrow 3/6/2010 6:20 PM
"most comments I get here are retarded..." That's because you are retarded...McEvoy...reap what you sow..
Eff.Kay 3/6/2010 5:00 PM
re: Toram Whitelace (NOT @ him) Must a man who watches a lot of porn and has many manly fantasies regarding them. So much convoluted and defensive posturing... really. Everyone watches some porn... some call theirs "opinion pieces on the internet". Arguably they're all but pieces to entertain the mind.
Sarah 3/6/2010 1:12 PM
@ Chris: Toram's comment is exactly that - pathetic gibberish. Incomprehensible really! What was that last thing about the one-eyed King? I didn't get it. Toram, were you drinking on your own too?
Chris McEvoy 3/6/2010 12:24 PM
@Toram Whitelace – I answer valid criticism fairly, which is extremely rare because most comments I get here are retarded. Yours is facetious at best. You need a film called "CURE ME I'M LESBIAN" before you’ll accept my argument? Do you also need Playboy to change its name to “Boring Articles and Airbrushed Wank Fodder” before you’ll believe that that’s what it is? Fantasy is a direct reflection on how we perceive reality, and how we act within society on those perceptions. Come on, it’s not rocket science. And you got insulted because you’re a pompous, humorless twat. You insult my character, referencing my Facebook page, and expect polite silence? Finally, your obvious fanning of yourself on this page is very much in keeping with a guy who has nothing better to do on a Friday night than spout pseudo-intellectual gibberish at someone they dislike. Don’t you have even a shred of dignity? Reading your comments makes me feel like I’ve just watched a dying pig eat its own vomit. Pathetic!
Melanie 3/6/2010 5:22 AM
I never understood why men find lesbians sexy, by definition they are excluded, but I find man-on-man (well, at least the action in Torchwood, which is more sensual than sex) attractive and also have no idea why. Maybe it's about the freedom of self expression, or am I just thinking like a woman here?
Toram Whitelace 3/5/2010 10:41 PM
@Sarah, I dare say I sniff a large whiff of hypocrite. If you'd like to point out a post of Chris' where he has constructed a meaningful counter-point to someone's criticism, and not just simply have said "fuck you", "asshole","shithead" etc. I would gladly read it, yet I would also gladly place a wager that they are as few and far between as intelligent people in this modern world. I'd also very gladly maintain that I have said nothing meaner than you have to anyone else on this comment section. Feminism is a school of thought, it is not a form of logic. In the same way as simply stating that by being an academic or a lecturer, one is by default an overflow of wisdom and right, I have met and experienced many in academia that are so puffed up on their own self-importance or those who have become jaded, that they lose sight of logic. I gave my critique, in a manner similar to the way in which Chris writes his column, and yet all I received in return was an attempt (albeit sad, and meaningless) at an insult. The one-eyed king would gain much wisdom from understanding that having a sense that others do not, doesn't not come with a superiority that is in its own away from learning to close that eye once in a while. @everyone else, giving me false phrase and asking for twitter accounts, "nothing is true and everything is permitted".
Cadbury 3/5/2010 3:29 PM
Cover me in chocolate and feed me to the lesbians...
Sarah 3/5/2010 2:58 PM
@ Toram: No I haven't looked at Chris's Facebook page. I read his published material and judge it on its own merits. Your argument may hold a bit of water (that one shouldn't conflate men who have lesbian fantasies with rapists) but it's not enough for such a mean and critical stance. It reminds me of Camille Paglia - you obviously don't understand that what Chris has done here is try to look at the bigger picture through the lens of feminist theory: finding connections between different forms of heteronormative, patriarchal society. Finally - this is an opinion column and it's not enough to say that Chris sucks just because you don't agree with his opinion! @ Lockstock - you are a racist.
olivia 3/5/2010 2:48 PM
Very funny at=rticle this is. It brought home an important message but dam the humour just made it all the more interesting to read. Its true that if the exhibition was two hetrosexuals it would have simply gone unnoticed but you know what small minded people usually find small things to rant and rave about like our "friend" Xingwana
Sarah 3/5/2010 2:40 PM
No Katman - that is not a real counter argument. Why don't you expose your cowardly self to public light and then we can see who's right. I am an academic at one of SA's leading Universities and Chris is a writer and lecturer at another university. Who are you? Why do you hate intellectuals so much? Do you think you are one? @ Chris - Hahahahahaha! Knitting patterns :)
Lockstock 3/5/2010 2:04 PM
@Feminist. It appears the only ones of the opinion here that heterosexual males can seemlessly transform from fantasising computer copulators, to violent rapists are the gay and feminist crowd. If you're asking me if SA heterosexual men behave like rutting racoons in the off season, then you will get no argument from me. Refinement, breeding and social awareness has never really been the strong suit of the hetero white, male South African. Of this I have no truck. They're generally an embarrassment. But the simple facts are that the 'mindset' that takes to the streets with a few willing chums, pitchfork and/or erect appendage in hand, is much more likely to be the sort that slaughters goats in the middle of leafy suburbia, or cows at a stadium opening, or who takes on numerous fertile, fat, fornicating wives (no clues on this one) and concubines. These REAL facts (and not the conjured ones Chris alludes to) are part of the many that NuSAns (New - unimproved - South Africans) avoid as they believe the 400lb Malema in the room is best left alone, undisturbed, unprodded (appropriately) and mired in his own idiocy.

I once had a 3some with 2 bi chicks. Was awesome.
MM 3/5/2010 12:58 PM
@ Mohammed, did you come up with that theory all by yourself? Well done, I'll give you a gold star *paste on forehead* "we are the best of gods creation", You right, I happen to be the best of gods creation and I'm lesbian.
Chris McEvoy 3/5/2010 9:27 AM
Just a quick reminder to the morally outraged: the only reason you're here is because you clicked on a link with a pic of MY FACE and the title "Crazy Lesbian Fantasies". Were you expecting knitting patterns?
FanOfToram 3/5/2010 9:10 AM
Hi Toram, what's your Twitter name.. I wanna follow you..
tc 3/5/2010 8:23 AM
Chris you article is very true that is really the reality but you don’t have to ruin the fantasy that men have of lesbians You have the rapists mixed up with normal men, a man that enjoys the lesbian fantasies will not go and rape and kill the lesbians. You have taken two different topics and combined them, I think leave men to have their fantasies and lets fight the rape and violence
Bit-chi 3/5/2010 8:09 AM
With the macho, women can't do without my "dick" attitude from most men, I don't blame women turning lesbian. I'm a married woman(to a good guy) but what I've seen in my life has left me with very little respect for these self glorified humans with extentions called penises. They could have it all if only they used the top head more often.
AJ @ Mr Drew 3/5/2010 8:08 AM
Unless Chris was standing behind you with a gun pointed at your head, you dragged your own mind 'through the gutter'. I have a general question, why do people who have no interest in something feel compelled to tell everyone about it. Narcassistic too strong a term?
Aj @ Heidi 3/5/2010 8:00 AM
Do you ever stop to think that when you find something puke-provoking, ugly or unappealing that perhaps, just maybe there are other people who are not built the same as you who do like it? If you were forced to go and view something you dislike, I would agree with you. Were you forced Heidi? Or do you simply think our rules of self-expression and behaviour should be moulded specifically according to your tastes? PS Dont forget you have a Club Meeting Sunday morning 9 AM.
AJ @ Chris McEvoy 3/5/2010 7:56 AM
Great article. And you're dead right, straight guys need cock (shivers).
Feminist 3/5/2010 7:52 AM
Excellent article Chris, very thought provoking. @Lockstock: unfortunately it does not just remain in the imagination, and I totally agree with Chris that it is this mindset which leads to atrocities such as curative rape. I am a bisexual woman, and have been repeatedly harassed by men before when having a private night out with my girlfriend. Men who have come to join our table, asking why we were provoking them, if we needed some male company. It is these men who cannot stand the fact that their penis has been made obsolete who will become the curative rapists.

Hi, lets be honest that after all we are the best of gods creation.Compared to all we see around us like trees, seas, rivers, planet, animals, etc. We humans are now even falling to the level of animals OR rather EVEN worse. We have everything that an animal has, minus one which they dont have.THATS INTELLECT AND THE ABILITY OF SPEACH.Lets not fall into the trap of immoral behaviour, for we are now creating WAR with the almighty god.Well done to the minister-- YOU HAVE MADE US PROUD AND YOU HAVE PROVED THAT YOU ARE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING and not FROM A MORALLY SICK SOCIETY.
peter 3/5/2010 6:19 AM
wish to meet some lesbian chicks.I am actually a lesbian myself.....but in a mans body.
Lockstock 3/5/2010 2:05 AM
The 'mindset' that fantasies about joining in with a few busy ladies, is nothing more than the signs of a fertile imagination. The key word here being 'imagination' which of course has nothing to do with facts, especially considering sex as the subject matter. This of course has absolutely nothing in common with the type of rapacious simpleton who takes part in an abhorrent gang rape of lesbians, because he thinks their lifestyle is an assault on his culture, and feels the need to violently make his point to release his own juvenile, stone age frustrations. The filth that organise, take-part and engage in these gang rapes are hardly the type to have been sitting at home, playing on their township computer imagining how they could 'turn' the local gay ladies, and on the spur of the moment organise a sortie to fulfill their desires. They're disgustingly making a not-too-subtle and violent point. Might I add that I am particularly discouraged by the gay opinions on this page. There is a certain knee-jerk, hypocritical and dare I say ironic reaction by you all which speaks volumes of your own 'mindset'. These anti-straight opinions (as well as the main piece) are out of place and uncalled for. I strongly suggest you all look at your own prejudices as a starter, before pointing your fingers. But the problem of these gang-rapes are culturally borne. You could slaughter a few sacred-Saffer-cows by exploring the wheres, whys and how-comes, but this of course is anathema in The New (unimproved) South Africa where any valid criticism is construed as racism. Not a well thought out piece, Chris. Not at all.
Heidi 3/5/2010 1:49 AM
Since when do we have to be perverted to be acceptable? The displays was puke provoking not thought provoking. Pornography should be ilegal.
Jay 3/5/2010 1:49 AM
Look at the state of Chris McEvoy in that picture. It's disturbing on so many levels, you got some disease boet go get checked. If the doctor says you are fine got to a shrink coz you don't look normal!
Toram Whitelace 3/5/2010 1:21 AM
@Adam Quill: If you didn't get the cliff's notes, nokuhlonipha is a troll, and more than likely not even black, I know his phonetic spelling is follows the same patterns as the stereotypical speech that is often placed on black people, but he is trolling. @Merton: I really doubt anyone here has taken the points Chris has put across as untrue or not serious, it's his way of trying to take an egotistical male driven fantasy and use it as basis on why lesbians are not taken seriously. Many people of many different sexual orientations (even heterosexuals) are not taken seriously. There is always a guy who thinks he can cure a lesbian, there is always a gay man who thinks he can turn a straight man, there is always a lesbian ready to mock the poor caveman ways of the straight man, and always a woman/man who gets raped or abused, these acts are committed by people, to blame a fantasy is first year varsity student, you may as well blame the constant idea that echos through movies that the world is going to end for the astounding apathy of most modern human beings. The minister was wrong to voice her "disgust" in public, as a person of public interest, but she is at the end of the day entitled to her "disgust" as much as any one else is to their "disgust" of her, none of this "disgust" commits a hate crime, a person does. At the end of the day did anyone really find this that shocking, considering what else our politicians and public interest members get away with saying?
huntergirl 3/4/2010 10:20 PM
I love Toram!! Yay for Toram!! I think Toram should write columns. And I'm not being sarcastic. Toram's comments have actually made this drivel worth reading.
Merton 3/4/2010 9:59 PM
Bizarre reaction here to Chris's article. The issue's truly serious, folks. There are people in SA who get beaten up and raped and so on because they are considered to be out of line in terms of their sexual orientation. We have a constitution that protects them, but a people that attack them, and a public that is thick about the issue. Good one McEvoy. I'm a novelist and I sure as hell don't want the patronage of a Minister of Arts and Culture, specially a simple-minded bigot one.
Adam Quill 3/4/2010 9:52 PM
@ Nokhulonipha God simply created man and women. He never created sexual preference. Just like He gave man dominion over animals. He never dictated that Zulu "warriors" should kill the beast inhumanely for cultural fun. I'm sure He also gave you a brain but he didn't dictate that you should use it. Otherwise you would have. Neh ?
Chris McEvoy 3/4/2010 9:44 PM
@Danny - LOL! and @Sarah: I love you. @Adam Quill - ditto, but in a different way

Toram Whitelace 3/4/2010 8:00 PM
@EISH! He's trolling, and I have to admit it's worse than Chris's attempts. @Sarah Please, have you looked at Chris' facebook page? It's rife with the tell tale signs of pretentiousness. He's just as pseudo-intellectual as the rest of us posting shit that doesn't really matter on the internet. Like I initially said, I think Chris' intent was valid, but he lost steam, not all men who fantasize about being irresistible to lesbians are rapists and/or uneducated, its a 'fantasy', and as much right as Chris has to say that the minister should fuck off, everyone can fantasize about what the fuck ever they want to. I do have to call Chris out on his bullshit replies even on his twitter, it's always a teen angst coated sarcastic reply if you don't agree with him, he never makes a counter point at all, and that's what makes everyone think he's a twit, but I guess maybe it's his "style" or something.
Adam Quill 3/4/2010 7:27 PM
Great article using humour to get serious issues across. A real jounalist with writing skills and insight when we are swimming in a sea of mediocrity from "journalists" writing for The Times, Star. Citizen and other rags.
Eish! 3/4/2010 6:01 PM
@nokuhlonipha - amazing hatred and tiny little mind you have. People don't choose their sexuality, they are born with it! Go and hate somewhere else.

Mr Drew 3/4/2010 5:52 PM
The lesbians that you grew up with must be ashamed of the cheap sensationalist cr@p you have written here, Chris. Instead of defending your mother, you have merely taken the easy road of dragging our minds through the gutter.
Sarah 3/4/2010 5:26 PM
Oh and Katman, you seem particularly bitter about alternative cultural comments and 'pseudo-intellectuals'. You know, there are real intellectuals in this world, probably most of whom you hate, because YOU, Katman, are a pseudo intellectual. Sorry about your cerebral and imaginative limitations, but don't take it out on us!
JFW 3/4/2010 5:24 PM
Nokuhlonipha, climb back under the rock you came from!Bloody hell!!
Sarah 3/4/2010 5:23 PM
@ Katman - god, I'm sick of you. You are such a little bitch. You are SO projecting when you call Chris 'bitchy'. I love reading Chris's comments but your twisted hatred (where does that come from man?) leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
nokuhlonipha 3/4/2010 5:06 PM
I'M ALSO AGAINST ABOUT ALL THE LESBIAN STAFF BECAUSE THEY KNOW AXACTLY WHO THEY ARE,LET'S JUST FORGET ABOUT LESBIAN THINGS IN LIFE.ALL LISBIANS THEY SHOULD BE BEATEN UP,SO THAT THEY CAN REMEMBER WHERE WE COME FROM AS GOD CREATION.AT FIRST GOD CREATED MAN AND A WOMEN NO LESBIANS AND GAYS

@ Goda - didn't you see the troll kitsch feature in the latest Top Billing magazine? @ Chris: obscenely wonderful column, very important stuff - thank you.
Toram Whitelace 3/4/2010 4:35 PM
@Chris McEvoy : Dude, you can't even troll properly, the breakfast was a good lead in, but pick my kids up from the reformatory? What kind of weak crap is that? Were you trying to hit a nerve assuming I was some kind of fucking house wife or suburban land rover jockey? You should have said, 'come over to your place, make you breakfast, then suck your dick while you finish your coffee." EXPAND chris, EXPAND, your trolling skills are still ineffective grasshopper.
Goda 3/4/2010 4:22 PM
What the hell is "troll kitsch appeal"?
Chris McEvoy 3/4/2010 4:20 PM
@Kerneels - No - as some readers are already aware, I'm totally queer, so that makes everything ok and above board. PS: I'll let you have the video for 50 bucks.
Chris McEvoy 3/4/2010 4:08 PM
@Toram Whitelace: "please expand your article into something meaningful..." Yes, I think I'll do that. Then once I've rewritten it to your satisfaction, I'll come round to your place, make you breakfast and pick up your kids from the reformatory. How's that sound?
Kerneels 3/4/2010 3:42 PM
I don't get it - did you walk into a room, naked, while holding a video camera to watch your sister make out? Lesbian or not, that's dodgy dude!

A minister expressed an opinion and you holla.Do you know if she is secretly bi?Grow up people! Those who accuse others quickly are usually most guilty of the same offence.
Toram Whitelace 3/4/2010 3:22 PM
Your articles are usually pretty funny and have a troll kitsch appeal to them However I'm going to call you out on your white knight bullshit with this one. Although the intent I suppose is valid, your article is rife with illogical statements and prejudice. 'Lesbians' in a straight porn film that get dick, are bisexual, a term you've used in your article, so I assume you understand its meaning. There are few porn films in-titled, "CURE ME I'M LESBIAN" or "I NEED THE RIGHT DICK", if you have seen these however, please provide me with a torrent. I know a fair amount of lesbians, some I've grown up with and some I know through them, and there is just as much of a large population of lesbians who think ALL men are trying to cure them, or that ALL men are silly dogs who get excited over every little sexual thing between two women. I think the truth, and which I also think you have not gotten through here, is that PEOPLE are ASSHOLES, please expand your article into something meaningful instead of a fueled on hot topic piece. Also, as you stated, porn is about fantasy, it doesn't make one uneducated, fantasizing about a situation that cannot happen in real life, in fact that probably makes one more educated.

As a lesbian, THANK YOU! for your insightfulness and good humour. Loved reading this. Isn't art suppose to be though-provoking? Taliban here we come, when others decide what can and cannot be seen....

@JD - feel free to overdose on my personality by twotting me on twatter (link under scary pic)

ha ha ha ha. men and their magic wands. it is rather funny. but more seriously: the ignorance of a minister who is supposed to promote and protect arts and culture, of which freedom of artistic expression is a cornerstone, to react in such a way pushes me to despair. art isn just about drawing picture and making things pretty, but there to show us our own conciousness and humanity. a sad sad day
JD 3/4/2010 2:12 PM
enough about porn chris, ...we want to know more about YOU and what you think..
Pinvictor 3/4/2010 2:10 PM
If you would like to express your opinion to the department of arts and culture on the minister's bigotry, you can write to Mr Sandile Memela, the Public Relations Director. Sandile.Memela@dac.gov.za

I'd love to see the expressions right now on those dick-heads. Real men should think like you :) and 'swingwally' should flagellate herself into a coma.

Its, ironic how those who fought for equality are being shown up for what they really are.
CTheB 3/4/2010 1:40 PM
Shouldn't we just say that it's part of our culture?
Ek hou van poësie man ! 3/4/2010 1:19 PM
To quote "....could only exist in a world where men think they can change everything by pulling out their prick...", WTF, is this not how things work ?!? LOL. Aah, reminds me of the joke where the guy says it's the only time he get's 5 minutes of silence around the house....LOL Personally I'm a equal rights kinda guy. I believe gays have JUST AS MUCH RIGHT to be miserable than straight people. So give them all our "rights" and let them get married as well ! lmao !

I’m sure there must be a name for your condition, McEvoy. And I don’t mean this alleged bi-curious, lesbian-protecting public stance of yours. I’m referring to your pretentious desire to be perceived as outrageous, anti-social and degenerate. What do you call it when adults do this?

Very insightful, well written article. Pity the message will probably be lost on those ignorant homophobic pricks who really need to get it (but probably never will). Chris, expect some flack from the religious crowd and the 'moral morons' about your use of 'vulgarities'and your defence of our basic human (and constitutional) rights.
MikeMatthee 3/4/2010 12:54 PM
The sad part is that the majority of the voters of this country will back the minister, especially because of this view point. Being homophobic and a biggot doesnt seem to bother the majority of this country - I would go as far as to say that there is pride in being anti-homosexual.
Vanman 3/4/2010 12:47 PM
Don't quite what to make of the author not wanting to be in a room full of lesbians. That is true only if they DO NOT look like these models on DVD...
Cassie 3/4/2010 12:41 PM
Usually find your articles rather hysterical and over-the-top, but you're spot on with this one.
rantboy 3/4/2010 12:21 PM
Ag, sometimes I just despair. Good column, Chris – and yes, she needs to be called on it. Slightly related: the Daily Mail's attack on Zuma – I loved the bit where they castigated him for his homophobia. The Daily Mail, calling someone homophobic. Perhaps their irony fairy was on leave...

One wonders whether our esteemed Arts and Culture Minister would have reacted in the same inexcusable fashion if the photographer had been a straight male?
camelthief 3/4/2010 11:50 AM
loved the article, thought provoking, fun and frank at the same time. Good stuff!
