Michael Bublé - Crazy Love

Suavé looks with an uber-sexy voice. Add a few Grammy Awards into the mix and you have the delectable Michael Bublé ready to entertain you.

Two-and-a-half years between albums is a lifetime for any Michael Bublé fan to wait. But it's been worth it. Yes he teased us with his live CD/DVD retrospective, Madison Square, but now he's finally back to seduce the world with some brand new swing.

This hot Canadian crooner continues to introduce a whole new audience to the magic of the Great American Songbook and classic songs by Etta James, Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra. Some might argue that he was born in the wrong era but if it wasn't for him, we'd never get to fall in love again with soulful classics like "Georgia on my Mind".

As with previous albums, Crazy Love contains a mouthwatering cocktail of old and new tunes. "Haven’t Met You Yet" and "Hold On" are two new original songs that showcase both sides of his artistry. While the former is a playful pop breeze in Bublé's signature swinging style, "Hold On" is a great romantic ballad about the bliss of falling in love. It's a song that tugs on your heartstrings from beginning to the end.

Michael also gives the standard "Georgia on my Mind" a new lease on life. Unlike the classic Ray Charles rendition, which has a rustic blues feel to it, Bublé's interpretation is smooth as it is soft. It has that luxurious lazy Sunday afternoon feel to it, which makes it just work, even for someone singing it the way he does. In contrast, "Cry Me a River" feels like it belongs in a 007 movie. It has 'espionage' written all over it and you'll just love it. With David Foster back in the hot seat as co-producer, that signature mixture of heavyweight symphonic swing arrangements is especially hard to miss on Michael’s playful rendition of The Eagles'  "Heartache Tonight" which gets the Bublé signature big-band feel.

Now if only Foster – or some other svengali – would convince Michael to hook up with Josh Groban and Harry Connick Jnr. Then we can witness the rebirth of the modern day Rat Pack! But hey, as long as Bublé is exploring swing, we’ll always have "Crazy Love" for him.

So you want to be a new recording but you don't really want new music? This is the one for you! If Mr Bubble had an original idea it could be just one thing: Lonely. Dull, dull, dull. So inoffensive that it's offensive. Enough aural wallpaper already!
