Cole divorce starts today
03/09/2010 11:36
Cheryl Cole's legal separation from footballer husband Ashley Cole starts in London's High Court today.
The Fight for This Love singer split from the soccer player in February after reports that he had been unfaithful with numerous women.
District Judge Christopher Simmonds is expected to grant the court order in a short hearing, and their four-year marriage will officially be over when the decree absolute is granted in six weeks.
The estranged couple asked the court to keep their names off the legal documents, and their case has been listed as "CAC v AC", for Cheryl Ann Cole and Ashley Cole.
The 27-year-old pop star is not expected to attend court as she is currently taking time out in America, where she is recuperating after falling ill with malaria.
A source told The Sun: "Cheryl is in the States but is watching things very closely. She is relieved and pleased things have progressed significantly since her illness. She just wants to move on with her life and getting the divorce done will end a very painful chapter.
"It must not be forgotten Cheryl did not ask for this – the last thing she expected was to be a divorcee at 27. But once she accepted there was no way the marriage could work without the trust destroyed by her husband, the pill was a slightly less bitter one to swallow. She and Ashley have no need to stay in touch and all housing and assets will be handled by their legal representatives."
Cheryl has previously told friends she didn’t want anything from Ashley, but the couple are reportedly planning to split their assets equally, while Cheryl will have custody of their two dogs.
The Girls Aloud star announced her separation on Twitter, and filed for divorce citing the sportsman's unreasonable behaviour after he sent photographs of himself in his underwear and raunchy text messages to other women.

She explains: “I do steal pillows from every single place I stay. It’s like Princess and the Pea and I’m just laying on a bunch of pillows in a big room.

She added to BBC Radio One: “In the past four weeks alone I’ve been to Los Angeles, Malaysia, Singapore, London, Paris… I’m thankful to even be alive today. “My family are always asking me for my air miles, at least I never run out!”

Diaz shacks up with A-Rod
02/09/2010 15:52
Cameron Diaz has reportedly prepared to move in with Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez.
The Knight and Day actress, who has been rumoured to be dating the baseball star since April, has started publicly referring to the sportsman as her boyfriend and the pair are even said to be making plans to decorate a home in Florida together.
A source told Life and Style magazine, “While having lunch at Morandi restaurant in New York on August 19, Cameron was calling A-Rod her boyfriend.
They're decorating his place in Miami together. Now, it can be a place the two of them think of as their home."
Cameron and Alex – who has previously been linked with Kate Hudson and Madonna – have been reluctant to be pictured together in public, but have enjoyed a string of private dates together at a number of top New York restaurants.
The source added Alex appears to be having such a great effect on Cameron that she is “looking better than ever” and has an “in-love glow".
The 38-year-old Cameron, who has dated Justin Timberlake and John Mayer, has remained tightlipped about her love life, however, preferring to state she is “in love with life”.

Lohan's diary made public
02/09/2010 16:01
Lindsay Lohan’s estranged father has denied selling her private diaries.
Michael Lohan has admitted to sending two of his daughter's diary entries, written when the troubled actress was a patient at the Cirque Lodge rehabilitation centre in Utah in 2007, to an entertainment news outlet but insists he did not seek any payment.
Explaining why he allowed the journal entries to be made public, he said, “They directly talk about how she said the doctors have her on the wrong medication and she mentioned how she wished the doctors would get the medication right".
According to Michael, who received a cease and desist letter from Lindsay’s lawyer warning him against selling her personal belongings, he received the diaries when someone sent pages of his daughter’s diary to him from a fake address in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He added to website Hollyscoop, “I have the envelope and postmark dates to prove it”.
The Machete actress – who served 13 days in jail and 22 days in rehab last month as part of a sentence for violating the terms of probation following a 2007 driving under the influence conviction – instructed her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley to send the legal document to her estranged father warning she will seek damages if he sells any of her personal belongings.
However Michael, who has moved to Los Angeles in a bid to repair his relationship with his famous daughter, claimed the process was unnecessary.
He insisted: “I never meant to offer those for sale”.
Lohan has repeatedly insisted she wants nothing more to do with her father following his repeated insistence she is addicted to prescription drugs.

P Diddy sued for discrimination
02/09/2010 16:22
Francesca Spero, who claimed she launched the hip-hop mogul’s career, said she was sacked by his firm Bad Boy for being old and disabled, after she underwent hip surgery in 2008.
According to the 51-year-old’s legal claim, Diddy, real name Sean Combs, was "unsympathetic to her condition" and tried to push her out of the company.
In March 2010, she was fired and replaced by a woman much younger who "lacked the skill set and experience Spero brought to the position".
Her lawyer Laurie Berke-Weiss said, "Francesca Spero opened the door for Combs' career and, now that she's 51, he showed her the door at Bad Boy".
Spero said she first met Combs in 1998, but didn’t start working for him until ten years later when she helped him sign new song writers, get music clearances for corporate endorsements, execute Bad Boy's $38m deal with Warner Brothers and produce the MTV reality show Making the Band.
However, according to her lawsuit, after surgery to treat a hip misalignment, he allegedly said she earned too much money for "someone who could no longer keep up with his fast-paced lifestyle" and fired her.
Spero also admitted to checking herself into a substance abuse treatment facility in December 2008 after problems with prescription pain killers and alcohol.
However, she insisted she had been clean and sober from 1987 until two years ago after being treated for opiate addiction.
Combs' spokesperson could not be reached for comment.

Pitt and Fox top cheaters' list
02/09/2010 14:13
Brad Pitt and Megan Fox have topped a list of stars people would allow their partners to be intimate with.
The Hollywood stars were voted into the top spot after UK couples were asked which celebrities their partners would let them sleep with without classing it as cheating, known as a 'list'.
Joining Pitt on the 'allowed' list for women were Alice in Wonderland actor Johnny Depp, 300 star Gerard Butler, soccer ace David Beckham and Twilight Saga hunk Robert Pattinson.
Male respondents opted for Brad’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston and his current partner Angelina Jolie, who were named second and fifth respectively, with Beyoncé Knowles and Jessica Alba taking third and fourth place respectively.
Mark Pearson, managing director of Groupola.com, which conducted the survey of 1 198 couples, said: “I think that having a 'list' in a relationship is fine, as long as they are taken in jest and feelings aren't hurt.
“Although, I do wonder if any of the respondents would ever actually follow through with their 'list'. I can’t help but think that even if people were confronted with the situation whilst in a serious relationship, they would probably shy away from it!”

Dagga found in Paris Hilton's car
02/09/2010 11:34
Police found a suspected cannabis joint in Paris Hilton's car shortly after her arrest on Friday night.
The socialite, who was arrested for cocaine possession after being pulled over by cops in Las Vegas with her boyfriend Cy Waits, reportedly had a hand-rolled cigarette in the vehicle, which was discovered by officers shortly after they stopped the couple.
An arrest report filed for Cy said: "Vehicle inventor turned up a 'roach', white piece of rolled paper w/green leafy sub inside.
"It was wet and unable to be tested."
Cannabis-laced cigarettes, commonly known as joints, are often rolled in this fashion, and police also noted a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car.
The officer wrote in his report: "I could smell marijuana coming out of the vehicle, pulled up to the passenger side and driver stated he just got done smoking."
Meanwhile, Paris, who was stopped outside the lavish Wynn Hotel, has been banned from ever visiting both of the hotel resorts on the Las Vegas Strip.
Cy has also been sacked from his job as top managing partner of the Tryst Nightclub, and XS The Nightclub at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas.
A spokesperson confirmed: "Cy Waits has been separated from the company and is free to pursue other interests. Wynn has no further comment on this matter."
Paris has been charged with cocaine possession and could face up to four years in prison after 0.8 grams of the illegal drug was found in her handbag when they were stopped and searched.
She is due in court on October 27.
Paris has denied she has done anything wrong, tweeting: "These rumours going around are so ridiculous, untrue and cruel. I'm not going to even pay attention to them, because I know the truth."
Meanwhile, her ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt admits he was shocked when he learnt about Paris' arrest.
He said: "It's very surprising. Let justice prevail how it's going to prevail. I wish her nothing but the best and I hope everything works out for her."
