Alexander McQueen commits suicide

The London fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his apartment yesterday. The UK's Daily Mail reports that it is believed he had hung himself.

The fashion house Alexander McQueen referred to their founder by his legal name Lee, and have said that they are "devastated" by the terrible news.

It's really bad timing too. It's the start of New York Fashion Week. Is this a case of pre-show jitters gone wrong? Was he so dissatisfied with his latest collection? His show scheduled for this evening has been cancelled. 

Well one thing's for sure - the price of an Alexander McQueen garment is going to sky-rocket.Celebs, get your wallets ready.

All the business aside, this is very sad. At only 40, McQueen still had a lot of gorgeous garb stored in that head of his that we'll never get to see. It's a great loss. :(
