Poor Amor Vittone just can't stay out the news lately! A new book about the sex lives and scandals of the famous by journalist Yolanda Barnard is out, and it features some 'defamatory' and 'insulting' statements about the wife of the equally scandalous former Springbok, Joost van der Westhuizen.
Obviously, Amor isn't taking this lying down (unlike her husband). She's suing the author, publisher and a Sunday newspaper for damages amounting to R1 million! Tonight reports that Amor alleges the statements made about her in the book, Die Ponies Gallop, are completely untrue. Well, if someone said I 'fart like a horse' I'd also cry foul!
Barnard goes on to divulge that Amor suspected Joost of cheating and she doesn't like rugby. Okay, so it's a little embarrassing, but not exactly 'scandalous'. Is it really worth R1 million damages? Hmm... The woman has had to deal with a 'cheating' husband, a struggling music career and health problems in the last couple of years. A nice lump sum could offer some much needed retail therapy methinks.
Amor isn't the only one to be named and shamed in the book. Urma Mollema, a well-known businesswoman, is referred to as 'not very pretty' in the book, and it's implied that she's not trustworthy. She too is suing the author. Eish!
