With 5000 celebrity autographs under his blinging belt, Clay sure knows how to play with the stars.
Meet
Clayton Morar. He's the
Dexter of celeb-stalking: always takes a souvenir! With 5000 celebrity autographs under his blinging belt, Clay sure knows how to play with the stars.
GALLERY: Clayton with Wayne Rooney, Martha Stewart, Keri Hilson and more. 5000 autographs! Are there even that many celebs around? Well, Clayton's very inclusive, and he's got a lot of love for South African, shall we say, personalities. He's BFFs with former Miss SA
Tatum Keshwar and TV presenter Tammy-Anne Fortuin, and he and
Jeannie D are constantly 'mwah-mwah"ing on
Twitter.

Sure, we've all got that little celeb interest itch, but it's totally different for Clayton. This is more than a hobby for him. It all started many moons ago when a 13-year-old boy from PE received his first autograph from tennis ace Steffi Graf. He thought "Hey, that was easy! Who else can I harass? What other celeb addresses are there in this week's People Magazine?"
We kid, we kid. Nowadays, with his very convenient job as an entertainment journalist, he gets most of his autographs in person. He's also become very good at snapping celebs unawares (something I'm not too good at). He even shelled out for a swanky dinner at Maze at the One & Only in Cape Town last year just to get
a photo with David Beckham. Cute, huh? He's totally dedicated to the cause.

So what's all this for, you might ask. Clayton says "My goal is to one day get into the Guinness Book of World Records and to have the highest number of autographs collected. I like to think of it as “having a piece of a star” because with every autograph is a certain memory attached to it." He's really, REALLY attached to his memories. When
he met his idol Mariah Carey in 2009, he asked her to take a picture with him "for the nostalgia". Mariah later tweeted the words "For The Nostalgia" before she left SA. What did Clayton do? Check it out.

His next big feat would be to get Oprah's autograph, which he'd like to collect while on her show being interviewed about his vast collection.
With
reality TV expanding virally, we're sure there are more than enough celebs out there to help Clayton reach the Guinness Book of World Records. May 5000 become 50 000!
