Halle Berry will be “together forever” with Gabriel Aubry.
The actress split from the model earlier this year after five years of dating, but the 43-year-old beauty admits they will always be close because of their two-year-old daughter Nahla.
Speaking about her break-up, she said: "It's just that you realise you are not meant to go the distance with everybody… We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that's why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together forever, all three of us."
Halle – who has been married twice – has not given up on love but has vowed not to settle down with someone if she doesn’t feel completely comfortable.
She added to Vogue magazine: “I'm not done with love, but I refuse to settle. I am a hopeless romantic. And I won't stop till I get it right. I don't think I'm unlike a lot of people. I am just someone who is trying to find that mate, and I think it's a really hard thing to do. "
'Mate' - interesting choice of words since Gabriel seems to be nothing more than a fine sperm specimen to her.
She continues: "And I'm not willing to stay somewhere where I am really not happy. And I am not willing to pretend I am for the kid's sake or so that I don't have to go through another public humiliation."
The X-Men star is happy she waited until later in life to have a child and wishes women were biologically programmed differently so that it becomes easier to conceive as they get older.
She explained: "When you are younger, it should be harder to get pregnant, and as you get older, it should be easier. When you are so ready, you can't do it to save your life."
