Heather Locklear won't let a little 'no parking' sign tell her what to do!

The former Melrose Place star rammed her black BMW into a signpost on Saturday morning at 4am. The incident happened very near to her home, so she just slipped away. Is it still a hit-and-run if you live on the same block?  No need to cause a scene now... if only that nosy neighbour kept their trap shut!

TMZ reports that said neighbour called the police more than 16 hours later saying they had heard a crash. The police found the knocked over signpost and evidence that a car ramped the pavement. The police went to Locklear's house, found her banged up car and arrested her for the hit-and-run.

Thing is – how did they know to check Heather's place? Weird... guess a bad reputation will get you caught. Heather was arrested for DUI in 2008. Ouch.

The police didn't lock her up though, probably because she had sobered up already. The court date is set for May 17.
