John Mayer has reportedly rekindled his romance with Jennifer Aniston.
The Gravity singer, who split from the 41-year-old beauty in August 2008, began dating her again in October that year before separating for the second time in March 2009. He admits he is a strong believer in "second chances", and that it's important for him to "be with" the one he loves.
Speaking during a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, he said: "I believe in second chances! You might have been a pain…the last time around, but you can still start over again from home base. Next time you get a text from the one you love just text back 'come over', no matter what happened in the past. If you really love someone, just tell them and be with them."
John was performing for fans at the venue on Sunday when he spoke candidly for the crowd.
A woman believed to be Jennifer was spotted sitting in the audience, although John's spokesperson refused to confirm she was there.
The couple are believed to have been secretly dating for several weeks, after the musician invited the Switch actress, who was married to Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt, to fly by private jet from Los Angeles to visit him in Manhattan.
Despite previously splitting from Jennifer, the 32-year-old singer, who has also dated Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jessica Simpson, recently revealed he had "never really gotten over" their relationship.
