Cape Town – 2016 has been one massive roller coaster and we’re pretty sure a lot of people are ready to put it behind them.
From the death of love to throwing major shade and surprising relationships, Hollywood was full of shocking moments and we were there for all of it!
In no particular order, here are our top 10 Hollywood shockers of 2016:
1. Kim Kardashian West robbed at gunpoint
Kim Kardashian West was held up at gun point, tied up, gagged an thrown into a bathtub in her Paris apartment as masked men made away with $10m worth of her jewellery on 2 October. While she got away unharmed, the harrowing incident was enough to silence the queen of social media.

2. Brangelina split
Hearts broke everywhere when news broke that one of Hollywood’s most iconic couples were separating. Angelina filed for divorce from Brad on 19 September after an “abusive” incident between Brad and their eldest son Maddox occurred on a private jet earlier that month.
3. Kanye West hospitalised
Just over a month after his wife was held at gun point, Kanye West was hospitalised for a “medical emergency”. It was later reported that the rapper was being treated for exhaustion. Kanye’s medical emergency came shortly after the Yeezy designer cancelled the remaining of his Saint Pablo world tour.

4. Taylor Swift exposed by Kim Kardashian
The world was in shock when Kim Kardashian West exposed Taylor Swift on Snapchat. In case you forgot, Taylor was feuding with Kanye West about his use of her name in his song Famous. Kanye revealed to the public that he got Taylor’s permission but the Shake It Off hitmaker denied it. This prompted Kim to reveal the truth – a recording of Kanye getting permission from Taylor.

5. Johnny Depp abuse allegations
Johnny Depp made headlines in June after his now ex-wife Amber Heard filed a domestic violence police report shortly after filing for divorce from the actor in May. The report stated Amber endured “years of physical and psychological” abuse. Amber later withdrew her report.

6. Taylor’s love life
Another shocker that came from Taylor Swift this year was her whirlwind love life. The Blank Space hitmaker ended her almost year-and-a-half relationship with Scottish DJ, Calvin Harris which was sad but before everyone could get over it, Taylor was spotted making out with Tom Hiddleston. The former couple went on to date for a short three months.

7. Orlando Bloom’s penis
What Orlando Bloom saw as a relaxing day stand-up paddling, the world saw as some serious spice. Why? Well, the English actor was paddling completely naked! We will now never forget the sight of Orlando’s penis.

8. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth get back together
We never saw it coming but 2016 will now always be the year Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth got back together, and are now engaged again might we add. The couple were first spotted celebrating New Year’s together and well the rekindled love just blossomed from there on.

9. Charlize and Sean Penn break-up
Charlize Theron and Sean Penn seemed to be getting closer and closer, even with engagement rumours doing the rounds. That was until news broke that the former couple split while filming a movie in South Africa. It was later reported that the couple split because things weren't working and Charlize didn’t want it to cause commotion in her children’s lives.

10. Justin Bieber deletes Instagram
Justin Bieber has had an interesting year filled with ups and downs. One of the bigger shockers however, was when he decided to delete his Instagram account. The action came after people made negative comments about his then girlfriend Sofia Richie, including Selena Gomez. He first threatened fans and then ultimately did the deed.
