Adam Levine slams Honey Boo Boo TV show

2012-12-04 22:23
Los Angeles - Adam Levine has branded TV show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo as the "worst thing that's ever happened" to civilisation in a recent interview with the US GQ magazine.

The Maroon 5 frontman has slammed the reality series, which follows seven-year-old beauty pageant contestant Alana Thompson and her family, for causing "decay" in society and insists its high viewing figures do not mean it has anything important to offer.

"Seriously, Honey Boo Boo is the decay of Western civilisation. Just because so many people watch the show doesn't mean it's good," Adam said.

Expletive-filled rant

"So many people witness atrocities and can't take their eyes away from them, but that doesn't mean they're good. That show is literally The. Worst. Thing. That's. Ever. Happened!"

The Voice coach also slammed the "despicable" parenting shown in the programme during his expletive-filled rant.

He added to the new issue of the US GQ magazine: "It's complete fucking ignorance and the most despicable way to treat your kids. Fuck those people.

"You can put that in the magazine: Fuck those idiots. They're just the worst. Sorry, I'm so sensitive to that - like, I don't know, man, it's upsetting. Just to clarify, I said, FUCK THOSE PEOPLE."
