Afrikaans translation of Cameroonian music video a hit online

Cape Town – A YouTube video uploaded by eskolini is quickly gaining popularity online for its clever wordplay.

The video titled Slaan daardie slang sees the song Alane by Cameroonian artist Wes phonetically translated to Afrikaans.

The original song is sung in the Duala language of Cameroon, but gets a whole new meaning when you add the funny Afrikaans subtitles.

The original song was released in 1997 and became an instant hit, topping the charts in France, Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands.
