The Canadian singer posted a family picture of her with her husband Mario 'Souleye' Treadway and their first child together, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, via her Twitter page.
She accompanied the link with a message that simply read "amazing".
The photo shows Mario cradling the baby in his hands, while a smiling Alanis gazes into her spouse's eyes as she loving rests her hand on Ever's head.
Alanis - who married Mario in May 2010 - gave birth to Ever on Christmas Day that year.
The You Oughta Know singer previously admitted it came as a shock to her when she discovered she was pregnant.
The 36-year-old musician only found out she was expecting her son after visiting her doctor for another medical reason.
She said: "I went to the doctor and he said, 'Well this looks like the scan of a pregnant lady.'
"I actually thought I wasn't. But I mentioned in passing that I was a bit late, so he said, 'Well let's just take a quick look.' "
