Los Angeles - Jolie Angelina was "so determined" to make a success of directing her new movie Unbroken she barely ate.
The 39-year-old star - who's spent most of her working life in front of the camera - helmed the project.
Miyavi, one of the stars of the biopic, revealed the stress of the job took a toll on her health.
The 33-year-old Japanese actor explained: "It was surprising how much she trusted me, all of us, on the set.
"She was so determined. I was also surprised how skinny she got. You know, she was not eating much."
Speaking to HuffPost Live, he added: "I felt so bad I was the only one who got fat during filming."
Miyavi also revealed recently that he vomited on the set of the World War II film - which is based on the 2010 non-fiction book by Laura Hillenbrand - in front of Angelina, because he was so nervous.
The actor, who plays torturous sergeant Matsuhiro Watanabe, told the New York Post's Page Six column: ''I literally threw up."
"But Angie knows how actors feel. She said, 'Just be yourself. Accept yourself.' I got back to the set ... and I threw up again."
