Cape Town - It’s buzzing in the modern rec room on the fifth floor of the giant office building we are in. Outside it’s a crystal clear day as the Cape Town landscape unfolds under the smooth silver sky.
There is definitely a feeling of excitement hanging in the air as everyone awaits Anne Hirsch’s arrival. It’s not every day we have a celebrity in our midst.
The rumbling voices soon simmer down to a mere whisper when Anne arrives for her photo shoot. Dressed in her signature striped shirt and jeans the "Queen of South African internet", as she is known in top circles, arrives to an applause from her fans.
Summer dresses, jewellery and sexy pairs of high heels (all sponsored by the lovely folks at Spree) are neatly unpacked for what promises to be a dazzling photo shoot with the future-model.
Without missing a beat the local celeb effortlessly takes a seat in the makeup chair while an intern immediately places a cappuccino in her right hand.
"Fire away," Anne commands as a whole team of fashion experts huddle around her to do their magic. Although Anne hardly needs any makeup at all. She has a glow about her that just lights up any room she enters.
Channel24 Editor: You’ve just landed your own radio show. Tell us about it.
Anne Hirsch: The new radio show follows on my previous success with the Anne Hirsch YouTube stalk show. Soon listeners of Jacaranda FM and East Coast Radio will be able to tune in to my radio show.
CE: When will your show air?
AH: It kicks off on 25 September and will be broadcasted every Wednesday night from 21:00 to 22:00 brought to you by the amazing folks at Kagiso Broadcasting!
CE: Will it still be the same Anne Hirsch style we know and love?:
AH: Of course. This will change the face of radio for ever. It will be groundbreaking and fresh and new. Like nothing else in the whole world or South Africa ever. Life is just too short to listen to ugly people on radio.
CE: Which celebs do you already have lined up?
AH: There is a whole list and I don’t want to give away too much, but Riaan Cruywagen, Kenny Kunene, Ruda Landman and Heinz Winckler are just some of the names you can definitely expect on the show.
CE: Which celebs would you most want on your show?
AH: Definitely Sharlto Copley, Charlize Theron, Nataniël and of course my bestie Angelina Jolie.
CE: Will The Anne Hirsch YouTube show still continue?
AH: Of course! Season 3 kicks off in October. So get ready. There will be loads of hunky eye candy as I interview some of the biggest celebrities on earth. Bigger than Hollywood. Bigger than Bollywood. Bigger than Space!
CE: What’s your secret to balancing your work life and your personal life?
AH: Being a woman it isn’t always easy. I have to balance my career with taking care of my kids. I have to cook, clean the house, change the light bulbs, do radio interviews. I don’t have kids. Even getting dressed is a challenge. Plus my boobs weigh me down. Mine are beautiful, but they weigh me down.
CE: How do you relax after a busy day of work?
AH: I take off my bra. Let those puppies free I always say.
CE: What about your love life Anne?
AH: Don’t tell Gareth Cliff, but I’m looking. (She giggles) I mean I have a lot of men in my life. But I’m not tied down, although I’ve read Fifty Shades of Grey, so I could get into that #JustSaying. All the celebrities I interview always end up falling in love with me. I only date celebrities. I believe 2013 is the year of the body. That’s why I’m focusing on men’s bodies. Especially in season 3 of the Anne Hirsch show. You just wait and see.
CE: Who is the real Anne Hirsch?:
AH: She is amazing, driven, sexy, ambitious, a straight shooter, funny, sexy, intelligent, smart, sexy, open minded, friendly, but serious, sexy, curious, an open book, mysterious, sexy, different, sexy.
CE: Anne, do you think people will still be reading by this point?
AH: Nope. I think it’s safe to say we lost them at the third paragraph.
