Arrest made at George Clooney's Italian villa

Los Angeles  - A potential burglar has been arrested after allegedly trying to break into George Clooney's Italian villa.

A 29-year-old Romanian man had sneaked onto The Monuments Men star's property in Lake Como and stolen a bottle of wine from an alcove in the garden.

He was then spotted as he tried to force his way into the house by a member of staff who called the Carabinieri, the Italian national military police, who also deal with civil matters.

According to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, the man threatened the police with the bottle, but was overpowered and taken to a local station and charged with theft.

George, 52, was not at home at the time of the incident.

The actor is currently planning a "dream wedding" for his British lawyer fiancée Amal Alamuddin, which he is considering hosting either at the Lake Como property or Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.

Afterward, he is thought to be relocating to London so she can continue her work as a barrister at the Doughty Street Chambers.

Speaking of their marriage plans, a source said: "He'd marry her today if he could, but he wants to give her a dream wedding. It is her first, and he wants it to be his last!"

The brunette beauty's conservative Lebanese parents are also eager for the couple to make their union legal.

The insider said: "They are old-fashioned when it comes to these things. They expect a short engagement. George would do whatever makes her happy."
