Avril Lavigne disappears from the spotlight due to mystery illness

Cape Town – Avril Lavigne has been under the radar since she celebrated her birthday in September, but has re-emerged saying she has been struggling with undisclosed health issues.

The Skater Boy hitmaker sent a direct message to a fan saying she has been out of action due to medical issues and asked to be kept in her fans prayers, MailOnline reports.

The message is reported to have said: "I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I've been absent.I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers. (sic)"

Since then 'get well soon' messages have been pouring in to wish Avril well.

Avril is yet to confirm that the direct message was in fact sent by her, however she retweeted the fan's well wishes and said "thank you".
