Beckhams excited about royal wedding

London - British football superstar David Beckham and his former Spice Girl wife Victoria are "very excited" about attending the royal wedding later this month, she said in an interview broadcast on Sunday.

Prince William will marry long-time girlfriend Kate Middleton on April 29 at Westminster Abbey in Britain's biggest royal wedding for 30 years.

"I think we're both going to be there and we're very, very excited," Victoria Beckham told British radio station Heart, confirming recent media reports that the couple have been invited.

"We're very proud to be English and we're incredibly excited about this," added the pop star-turned fashion designer, who is expecting the couple's fourth child in the summer.

Mother's Day

"We're so excited to have been invited and it's going to be amazing if we can go to the wedding and you have your baby at the same time."

Victoria, who was known as Posh Spice during her days with all-girl pop group the Spice Girls, added that she would spend Mother's Day on Sunday with her three sons - Brooklyn, Cruz and Romeo.

"I am spending it with my boys and with David. The boys are always so busy at the weekends with football matches and soccer matches and hockey, so just like any Sunday just running around, watching the kids," she said. The couple are expecting a baby girl in July.

Former England captain David, 35, and Victoria, 36, married in 1999 and live in Los Angeles, where he plays for LA Galaxy.
