Britney Spears' boyfriend to keep secrets

Los Angeles - Britney Spears' new boyfriend has signed a confidentiality agreement.

The Scream & Shout singer - who split from her fiancé Jason Trawick in January - had her new love interest David Lucado undergo a background check and sign a non-disclosure contract before agreeing to go out with him despite being set up by her father and legal guardian Jamie Spears.

A source told gossip website RadarOnline.com: "Jamie has known David for awhile, and always thought he was a thoughtful, and an all-around good guy. Britney needed someone to keep her company after she and Jason (Trawick) broke up.

"It had to be a male, because Britney just doesn't respond as well to females. And remember, she is still under a conservatorship.

"Before David started spending time with Brit, he had to undergo a background check, and sign a confidentiality agreement, all arranged by Papa Spears. Jamie makes sure if things go south between Jamie and Britney, details about her life wouldn't be made public.

"David had absolutely no problem with it, and completely understood why it was being done."

'Very protective of Britney'

The 31-year-old singer - who shares sons Sean Preston, seven, and Jayden James, six, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline - has been spotted on several romantic outings with David, who works at a prestigious law firm in Southern California, recently.

And insider revealed: "(He) genuinely cares for Britney. David is very protective of Britney, and isn't dating her for fame.

"He is very, very patient with her as Britney can be prone to drastic mood swings. He has become a very calming influence in her life."

Britney's father Jamie is still in control of her affairs via a conservatorship, which he obtained five years ago following her public meltdown.
