Britney Spears fired her fiancé

Los Angeles - Britney Spears once fired her now fiancé Jason Trawick, according to her former associate Sam Lufti.

Sam, who is currently Courtney Love's manager, has been caught in a bitter court case with the the X Factor judge and claims the 30-year-old star fired Jason in 2007 and didn't know if she ever wanted to work with him again.

Britney's former manager is suing her and her parents, Lynn and Jamie, for "slander, libel and defamation aimed at discrediting, destroying and physically and emotionally intimidating" him

According to RadarOnline, Sam told the jury on Tuesday: "Jason was her agent and at that point Britney was unsure if she wanted him to represent her again because Britney had fired him."

'I never gave Britney drugs'

Sam also insisted in court that he had nothing to do with the singer's drug habit which was allegedly one of the main reasons for her meltdown in 2008 during which she lost custody of her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.

He admitted he takes Adderall for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) twice a day but swore he never gave Britney any of his medication.

"I never gave Britney Spears any drugs," he told the court.

Sam is suing Britney for breach of contract, claiming they agreed he would represent her for four years, but her lawyer Joel Boxer says he was never legally her manager and has no grounds to sue for 15% of her earnings.

'Scared to death'

He is also suing Britney's father Jamie for assault and her mother Lynne for defamation relating to comments in her memoir, Through The Storm.

Sam hit back at claims he took advantage of Britney and claims he did everything he could to protect her during her vulnerable period.

"I would make rules with the press photographers and would tell them where we were going so they would save her a parking place," he said.
