Caitlyn Jenner doesn't remember that fatal car crash

Los Angeles - Caitlyn Jenner remembers "very little" about the fatal car accident she was involved in in February.

The I Am Cait star could face a misdemeanour manslaughter charge over the multi-vehicle incident on the Pacific Coast Highway in California but doesn't remember the details of what happened.

She said: "I remember it very little, I remember it happening and that's about it."

However, the 65-year-old star - who was still known as Bruce at the time of the crash - admits she will never get over the "tragedy".

She told Today host Matt Lauer: "A tragedy like this, you'll never get over it. You just learn to live with it the best you possibly can."

Though it is said to be unlikely she will receive a prison sentenced if convicted of charges relating to the crash, Caitlyn's legal team are making sure she won't have to serve time in a men's facility.

She said: "The media wants that picture, don't they. That is the worst case scenario. I will say the men's county jail, it is an enormous problem that they would put trans women in a men's county jail."

Elsewhere, the former Olympian admits she feels lucky to have experienced life as both male and female.

She said: "I think about my life and where I'm at in my life right now and what a tremendous experience this.

"Hardly nobody gets to live two genders in their lives. Everybody wonders, 'Oh, what's it like to be coming from the other side? You know, their thinking, the way they act, everything?' And here I have the opportunity to do that. And to be honest with you, everything's so new and fun. From that standpoint, it's been great."
