Cape Town – 23 year-old supermodel Candice Swanepoel is happy to have finally got her revenge against high school bullies who used tease her for being too thin, she told GQ magazine.
Candice, who appears on the cover of the May issue of British GQ, told the magazine: "Revenge is always ... I know it sounds terrible, but it does feel good to show those people."
The Kwazulu-Natal born beauty added that she always knew she would make it as a model.
"A year before I got scouted, I would watch a lot of Fashion TV. At school, I got teased because I was so thin and awkward-looking. But the girls on TV looked similar to me.
"I would say to my mom, 'The girls at school are teasing me, but I look like those girls on TV'. A year later, someone took me to an agency and that's it."
'Eggs in one basket'
The Victoria's Secret model said she was determined to succeed and put in a lot of work to make it as a model after being discovered in a flea market in KwaZulu-Natal at the age of 15.
"I put all my eggs in one basket when I left South Africa. I put my head down and worked my ass off. And look where it got me," she said.
