Paris - Huge crowds of reporters and onlookers gathered in the streets outside a Paris maternity clinic on Wednesday after reports that first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was about to give birth.
According to reports by the pro-government daily Le Figaro and the private broadcaster BFM-TV, President Nicolas Sarkozy's 43-year-old wife was already inside the highly secured La Muette clinic expecting an imminent delivery.
