Celeb lifestyle made Bruce Jenner 'uncomfortable'

Los Angeles - Bruce and Kris Jenner's marriage ended because of clashing interests.

The Olympic gold medallist allegedly got fed up of the showbiz matriarch's obsession with Hollywood and propelling her children - Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Rob, Kendall and Kylie - to stardom thanks to their reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Meanwhile, the 63-year-old star is a "simple man" who prefers to spend time indulging in his sporting pastimes - golf, racing cars and RC helicopters - and was finding the limelight and constant media attention "extremely uncomfortable".

A family source told TMZ: "[Kris'] on a freight train and Bruce finally wanted off."

Parted ways amicably

Momager Kris - who has daughters Kendall, 17, and Kylie, 16, from her second marriage to Bruce - was initially reluctant to let the former athlete leave their marital home in Calabasas, California, as she feared it would be bad for the family brand, but Bruce took the initiative to move out.

He has now taken up residence in his Malibu beach house and is focusing on re-establishing a close relationship with his sons, Brandon and Brody, who were raised by their mother Linda Thompson.

Kris, 57, confirmed the couple had parted ways amicably after 22 years of marriage in a statement on Tuesday.

She told E! News: "We are living separately and we are much happier this way. But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority."
