Monaco - "I'm feeling good," said an excited Charlene Wittstock before she married Prince Albert of Monaco in the principality on Friday.
In an interview with Vogue, Wittstock addressed the rumours that have threatened to out a dampener on her big weekend.
Reports of her trying to flee Monaco with a one-way ticket to South Africa and rumours of a third love child in Albert's life have been doing the rounds in the build up to her wedding.
"It is a shame that those rumours came at such a bad time, but I think they were timed to sabotage such a happy occasion. They are categorical lies," said Wittstock.
"I won't dignify them with any response other than to say that the photographs of me and Albert in love and getting married will speak louder than any vicious gossip and empty rumours."
The Princess of Monaco also told Vogue that she was prepared for the stress of the occasion, saying: "I was a competitive swimmer for 15 years. Every morning I woke up and dived into a freezing cold pool; this challenge is no more daunting."
The religious ceremony will take place in Monaco on Saturday July 2 at 15:30 and the event will be broadcast live on SABC3.
