London - Charlene Wittstock hopes to start a family with Monaco's Prince Albert "soon".
The former South African Olympic swimmer will marry Prince Albert on July 1 and revealed the pair is already thinking about expanding their family.
She told French newspaper JDD: "I love children. A family is in our plans. We hope to have a child soon."
However, Charlene, 33, is focusing on the wedding first and says she is surprisingly "serene" about her upcoming nuptials.
New life
She explained: "I'm in the same state of mind as that of any young woman approaching marriage. We're making a commitment for life, and that's not just anything at all. Some brides stress, some don't. I think I'm a serene bride.
"I'm not going to let the pressure get to me!"
Charlene is looking forward to joining the royal family and revealed she has been busily preparing for her new life.
She added: "My role will be defined once I'm married (...) During the last five years, I've learned palace protocol, habits and customs of the principality. Today, I feel I'm ready."
