Charlize Theron has new demands after Sony hack that make us proud

Cape Town – The recent Sony hack has caused a lot of trouble for many celebrities but something positive may have finally come from it.

Refinery29 reported that amongst other secrets, the hack revealed that female actresses were paid significantly less than male actors, more specifically for the movie American Hustle.

Charlize Theron is now using this outrage as motivation to be paid the same amount as fellow actor Chris Hemsworth in their upcoming movie The Huntsman, which is set to be released in 2016.

Demanding that women be paid the same as men, Charlize managed to get herself a raise and will now earn more than $10m for her role as Ravenna, Page six reports.

Finding the positive in a negative situation is exactly why we love Charlize.

"One knock-on effect from the Sony hacking scandal is that there will be more sensitivity about equal pay for actresses," a source told the column.
