Check out Justin Bieber's new puppy

Los Angeles - Justin Bieber has named his new American bulldog puppy Karma after his father, Jeremy Bieber, asked his fans to come up with a name on Twitter.

The Heartbreaker hitmaker bought a seven-week-old American bulldog pup at Ruffin's Pet Centre while visiting his family in Stratford, Ontario, for Christmas, and has now settled on a moniker after his father, Jeremy Bieber, offered the singer's fans the chance to name the canine on Twitter.

Jeremy tweeted on Saturday: "so we have got a name selected for the newest Bieber. Big thanks to @justinfredos the Belieber who chose it 'Karma' (sic)”

He later poked fun at the name, adding: “Karma is a lil biter lol (sic)”

A source previously revealed that Justin fell in love with the puppy after he visited the pet store, where he and his family have purchased animals before, with his father and siblings earlier this week.

Justin - who has just released his concert film biopic 'Justin Bieber's Believe' - has taken a break over the festive season and been enjoying spending some quality time with his family back in his native Canada.

Earlier this week, he tweeted: “Blessed to spend Christmas with my family. Hope everyone around the world had a blessed Christmas as well. Much love.”

Meanwhile, the young singer, who recently declared he was retiring, hinted that he has no plans to hang up his microphone for good after his manager and aids dismissed the idea.

He tweeted on Saturday: “Blessed to do what I love. Thanks for always showing support and making me smile.”
