Chris Brown tattoo: Is that Rihanna?

Los Angeles - Chris Brown is raising eyebrows after being snapped recently sporting a tattoo on his neck of what appears to be the battered and bruised face of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

E! Online reports that the image has had many people wondering if Chris got this tattoo as a sort of weird reminder of his assault on Rihanna in 2009, a crime for which he pleaded guilty to felony assault and received five years' probation.

While the new tattoo bares an uncomfortable resemblance to the notorious police photo of Rihanna's bruised and swollen face that was leaked after the assault,  Chris' spokesperson Jeff Raymond told E! News that the tattoo is actually not of Rihanna.

Day of the Dead

"His tattoo is a sugar skull associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead and a MAC cosmetics design he saw.  It is not Rihanna or an abused woman as erroneously reported," Raymond said.

Peter Koskela, the tattoo artist, also confirmed the statement from Chris's spokesperson, saying that it was done on a MAC design that Chris had brought to him.

This new tattoo has already sparked a new meme in which other celebrities such as Kristen Stewart and Amy Poehler boast Photoshopped tattoos of their exes on their necks, as E! reports.

Rihanna also debuted a new tattoo across her chest this week, posting a revealing photo on Instagram that shows the Egyptian goddess Isis etched on her rib cage, which she had done while in London for the closing ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games.
