Los Angeles - Chris Brown's lawyer insists the singer did nothing wrong despite being charged with a criminal hit and run.
The Fine China singer was charged on Tuesday for allegedly leaving the scene of a crime without exchanging proper information and for driving without a valid licence, in connection with a minor car crash in Los Angeles last month, but his lawyer Mark Geragos has branded the charges ''ridiculous''.
The legal expert told gossip website TMZ.com that Chris, 23, gave Olga Gure-Kovalenko his Virginia driver's licence and his insurance card after he allegedly rear-ended her Mercedes while driving around with his on/off girlfriend Karrueche Tran last month.
Refused to cooperate
But in a written statement to police, Olga accused the Grammy-winner of repeatedly trying to avoid handing over his details and of calling her a "bitch".
Olga said that Karrueche initially tried to take responsibility for the crash and gave her own insurance details because she owned the car and said Chris was just driving it.
The alleged victim continued to ask for Chris's licence and insurance details and claims she took a picture of him after he refused to cooperate, which infuriated him.
She said: "The guy [Chris] tried to grab the camera from me. I jumped back, the girl [Karrueche] screamed, 'Don't touch her, don't touch her!'"
Olga said Chris then began to rant at her and said: "You are a bitch! Who do you think you are, bitch? Do you think if you driving Mercedes so got money, bitch?"
'False registration'
Chris reportedly then "slammed a door and drove away fast and noisy".
Olga claims the R&B star also "bragged about how much money he has and offered up false registration".
Chris's lawyer acknowledges that he didn't have a California driver's licence but said it is ''ridiculous'' to charge him with a hit and run because he turned over sufficient information about his identity.
If convicted, Chris, who is still on probation for beating his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, could be sentenced to four years in jail for violating the terms of his probation.
