Arlington - Christina Aguilera forgot the lyrics of her national anthem.
During her Super Bowl performance at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday, Christina forgot the lyrics to the fourth line of the anthem.
She sang "what so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming" instead of "o'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming".
It was a repeat of another line in the song but with the word 'watched' instead of 'hailed.'
Christina has commented on her error, stating "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of it's anthem still came through."
While stars such as Whitney Houston and Jennifer Hudson have lip-synced their Super Bowl performances in the past, Christina chose to perform the anthem live.
