David Beckham helps stranded motorist

Ware, England - A surprised family whose car broke down alongside the road couldn't believe their eyes when David Beckham stopped to help push their car out of the way.

The well-known soccer star stopped his car in the middle of peak hour traffic in the town of Ware in South East England to help photographer Paul Long and his two children.

Other motorists merely ignored Long before Beckham came to his rescue.

He asked them if everything was all right. "Then I asked him to help us push the car out of the way. And he helped."

Long told BBC Radio that when Beckham walked back to his car, he said to him: "Thank you David, I like you a lot."

The former England captain is currently training with the Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur.
