Dax Shepard reveals why his wedding ring is a tattoo of a bell

Los Angeles - Dax Shepard got a tattoo on his wedding ring finger because he hates jewellery.

The 39-year-old actor, who is married to Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell, decided to get a picture of a small bell inked on his left ring finger after they tied the knot last October instead of wearing a traditional wedding band.

The Parenthood star told The Ellen DeGeneres Show: "I don't like wearing jewellery, but I felt obliged to warn all the men that I'm taken. So, I thought a tattoo would be fitting. And her last name conveniently is an object I could tattoo. And there's little letters in there."

The design includes the letters K, L and D to represent the couple and their 17-month-old daughter, Lincoln.

The duo announced in June that they are expecting their second child and Dax hinted they are planning to have a few more in the future. He joked: "We are building a circus."

The Employee of the Month star also revealed that he and his 34-year-old wife already know the sex of their unborn baby.
