Cape Town – Demi Lovato is getting ready for the release of her new album, Confident on 16 October and she is making sure everyone knows just how confident she is!
The 23-year-old is feeling better than ever and it shows, especially in the Oct/Nov issue of Complex magazine.
In addition to posing topless and looking super-sexy doing it, Demi showed off her confidence in life too, talking about everything from marriage, sexuality and music.
When talking about Wilmer Valderrama she said: "We have been together for almost five years now, off and on.
"The only times that we were off was when I was not in a healthy state of mind, or he was like: 'I can’t be with you until you get sober.' So I did, and then that made our relationship so much stronger."
The couple are on the road to marriage, but Demi’s sexuality is still questioned.
When asked about her new song Cool For The Summer and whether it was about Ruby Rose she said: "I don’t feel like any of my past or future—when it comes to relationships that may have happened or not have happened—are of any concern to anybody. What matters to me is my relationship with Wilmer.
"Humans are humans, and when you connect with somebody on a spiritual level it doesn’t matter."
Never-the-less, Demi’s professional life is reaching its peak and she has her new found personal confidence to thank for that.
She tells Complex mag: "The Kardashians kind of revolutionised what beauty was when it came to body shapes.
"Watching them really helped me learn to accept my body image, too. I’m not naturally super thin. I have an athletic body. I just have to embrace that."
She added: "Lately, I’ve been coming to terms with my imperfections and not obsessing so much about trying to make myself perfect,” she says. “It’s a growing process."
