London - Elizabeth Hurley's nine-year-old son wants to become an actor - and has asked his mother to hire him an agent.

The 46-year-old star has revealed Damian wants to follow in her famous footsteps and has asked her to get him professional help so he can launch his career.

Elizabeth wrote on her Twitter page: "Oh lord, my son is begging me to find him an agent so he can become a child actor."

Gossip Girl influence

The actress and fashion designer has revealed Damian caught the acting bug when he visited her on the set of Gossip Girl, when she was filming scenes for her role as Diana Payne, and he struck up a friendship with his mother's co-star Blake Lively.

She revealed: "I was going to wrap late, Blake had wrapped early, and Damian was on the set.

"She asked, 'Can I take him out?' And they went to the Serendipity ice-cream parlour and had a big sundae and a hot chocolate."

As well as his mother, Damian is surrounded by famous faces who have inspired his showbiz ambitions, including his godfather Sir Elton John and Elizabeth's new fiancé, cricket legend Shane Warne.

The actress and Damian are spending the Christmas period in Australia with Shane and his three children.
