Ellen is No 2 in Out's 2013 Power List

Los Angeles - Ellen DeGeneres has been placed at number two in Out magazine's 2013 Power List.

The talk show host - who is married to Portia de Rossi - just missed out on claiming the top spot in the publication's annual list of the 50 most powerful gays and lesbians in America, losing out to first placed Apple CEO Tim Cook.

A new addition to the list at number 10 is musician Frank Ocean, who revealed he was bisexual last July after admitting he was in love with a man.

How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has moved down on the list, coming in at 13, followed by designer Marc Jacobs at 19.

Jodie Foster missing

Fellow designer Tom Ford comes in at 31 and Glee actress Jane Lynch, who plays cheerleader coach Sue Sylvester in the popular show, has moved up to 40.

Other stars in the top 50 list include celebrity blogger Perez Hilton - who recently became a father to surrogate son Mario - at 49 and drag queen RuPaul Charles takes the final spot at 50.

One name missing from the famous poll was Jodie Foster, who officially came out during her Cecil B DeMille Award acceptance speech at the Golden Globes earlier this year.
