Ellen makes $1m profit from Pitt house

Los Angeles - Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have sold their home for a $1m profit.

The couple sold the house that they bought from actor Brad Pitt just seven months ago.

They purchased the Malibu property in December 2011 for $12m, and sold it for $13m, reported Trulia Luxe Living.

The beachside place boasts sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and Point Mugu State Park, and has all the stylish touches such as a modern kitchen containing stainless steel appliances, bamboo floors, walls of glass overlooking the ocean, a pool, and private access to a sandy beach cove.

Located on the Encinal Bluffs, the 4 088 square-foot home that the actor bought soon after his divorce from Jennifer Aniston is actually made up of two houses, but neither were big enough for his rapidly expanding family with Angelina Jolie.

Ellen recently sold her massive $49m Beverly Hills compound to Ryan Seacrest before picking up a more place for her and Portia just minutes away.

The couple's new primary location is 8 500 sq ft and was designed by famed architect Hal Levitt. It was built in 1958, and features walls of glass, soaring ceilings, several fireplaces, a library, a black-and-stainless-steel kitchen, four bedrooms and six bathrooms. The property has great views across Los Angeles.

There's also a swimming pool on the one acre property.
