Elton John: Madonna's career is over

2012-08-06 15:32
Los Angeles - Sir Elton John has slammed Madonna, saying she resembles a "fucking fairground stripper".

The Rocket Man hitmaker blasted the 53-year-old singer after claiming she was "horrible" to Lady Gaga - who is godmother to Elton and his husband David Furnish's 19-month-old son Zachary - and says the Turn Up the Radio singer has no right to criticise other artists because her "career is over" and her recent MDNA tour has been a flop.

Speaking on Australian news and current affairs programme Sunday Night, he said: "Why is she such a nightmare? Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger ****.

"If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly.

"But no, she had to go and prove ... she looks like a fucking fairground stripper. She's been horrible to Gaga."

Reignited his long-running feud

Madonna - who has sported a number of flashing outfits throughout her tour - has criticised Gaga on a number of occasions and recently hit out at her after the 26-year-old pop star's single Born This Way had many similarities to her own 1989 hit Express Yourself.

She said: "I thought, 'What a wonderful way to redo my song.' I mean, I recognised the chord changes. I thought it was ... interesting."

Earlier this year, Elton reignited his long-running feud with Madonna by implying she wouldn't sing live at the Super Bowl half-time show, saying she should "lip-synch good" in her performance.

The 65-year-old musician's comments came after David had branded Madonna "embarrassing" and "desperate" after her song Masterpiece - from her directorial debut movie W.E. - beat Elton's efforts on animated film Gnomeo and Juliet to win a Golden Globe award.

He wrote on Facebook: "Madonna. Best song???? Fuckk off!!!

"Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is. (sic)"

Elton looks like a worn out, over coked, wingless fairy. There is an acronym for him GOF "Grumpy Old Fart"

Dear Madonna: Don't dignify this low class hot air with a response. As far as your music talents and credentials are concerned, you don't have to prove yourself to anyone anymore. If you criticised Lady Gaga, surely she is an adult and can defend herself. Why should some couple somewhere feel they must step in?

Is it me or do women hate women more than we care to think. I mean you will NEVER hear any man say that Mick Jagger is too old to do what he does (if you've ever seen a rolling stones concert you'll know what im talking about). but women on the other hand just bash each other soooo much, that phrase "girl power" is a delusion nothing more nothing less.

Mick Jagger does not expose his wrinkly bits in public. i have seen his show and he dances like a young man but still has diginity with it. he has nothing to prove to anyone. the 2 cannot be compared.

      lindani.mazibuko.9 - 2012-08-07 12:17

"he doesnt reveal he's wrinkly bits in public" youo clearly have never watched a rolling stones concert, hes chest has got more folds than an accordian. whether he dances like a "young man" thats debatable, and who are YOU to judge whether an ENTERTAINERS actions are dignified or not? the two can be compared, their both successful legends of music, the one is being given a hard time by stupid women like you who are insecure about their inability to do whatever they want without fearing the jugdement of others, and your a WOMAN which prooves my point again WOMAN HATE OTHER WOMAN. and the rule seems to apply more when one of the women is successful and the other isnt exhibit X!

      chez.kri - 2012-08-07 14:19

@Lindani. Wow but you clearly have some anger issues deary. And do you think i am lying about going to a Stones concert? Thats quite a statement to make! His chest cannot be wrinkly because he is way too skinny for that. She stuck her boob out in public and maybe you think its fine but i would have hated to see my mom do that when i was a teenager (like Madonas daughter). i'm not saying jagger is the greatest but he has not shown a private part of his in public. The fact that i mentioned it does not make me a women hater, you are showing a lack of logic that must be making the men laugh! Now take a chill.

      lindani.mazibuko.9 - 2012-08-07 19:30

chez.kri i think im within my right to ask you not to psychologically diagnose me, i may very well be angry but i doubt that has anything to do with the quality of my response. are you saying skinny people dont get wrinkles when they reach a curtain age just like mick? i hope not, cause i think weve astablished that EVERYONE gets wrinkles no matter the body size. yes true i would also had been angry if my mom stuck her boob out in public, but yet again mine and your mother are neither madonna nor entertainers now are they?

Elton should stick to his role as a grandfather (not DAD). His days are over. Leave the stage for a superstar like Madonna.

I went to Madonna's Rome concert in June. I got goose bumps when she came out on stage and yet I did, at the end of the show, have to secretly admit to myself that, as amazing as she is, she is a bit passed her prime. Over the years she has managed to successfully re-invent herself but she now seems stuck in this need to prove she is still a sex goddess and simply comes across as a slut. I hope she does manage to yet again manage to re-invent herself portraying an image more fitting for a woman of her age. Madonna, I still think you rock!
