Cape Town – The hilarious video of a girl’s epic twerk fail that went viral worldwide was a well-planned hoax.
The video entitled; Worst Twerk Fail EVER - Girl Catches On Fire! instantly took over social media and fooled multiple TV and news outlets (including Channel24) who reported on the video at face value.
Turns out the entire video was a hoax staged by Jimmy Kimmel and his show.
In the extended version of the clip, Kimmel walks through the door and extinguishes the fire.
After showing “the many, many media outlets that fell for our little prank,” Kimmel said, “it’s a good thing there’s nothing happening in Syria right now.”
