Ferdinand Rabie to become a dad

Cape Town - "She's the most beautiful pregnant woman I have ever seen. Sammy is healthy and beautiful!"

This is how Cape businessman Ferdinand Rabie describes the mother of his first child.

Rabie, 37, winner of South Africa's first Big Brother reality series, and Samantha Swartz are expecting their first child - a boy - in June.

"Sammy has always been ready for a child. She is wonderful and we are going for a test next week," he said.

The couple has been together for more than a year.

Surprise

Asked if they've chosen a name yet, Rabie replied: "No, I don't know. He must come and when he says hoezit, we will ask hoezit and then we'll know."

Swartz, from Bloemfontein, took a break on Wednesday and left the talking to Rabie.

"I take my hat off to any pregnant woman in this heat. I don't know how they handle it," he said.

According to Rabie they didn't want a surprise and found out the sex of the baby early on.

"It's difficult to buy baby clothes. What if we buy everything pink and then it should've been blue," he said.

He also added that he has no preferences about his son's extracurricular activity, "as long as he has enough balls to play with".
