Fergie is a mommy!

Los Angeles - Fergie has given birth to a baby boy.

The Black Eyed Peas singer and her husband Josh Duhamel have welcomed their first son into the world on Thursday.

According to People magazine the baby - named Axl Jack - weighed 10 pounds 7 ounces (3.46kg).

It had previously been reported the couple had gone into a Los Angeles hospital to prepare for Fergie, 38, to give birth via Caesarean section, although the details have not yet been confirmed by a representative.

Fatherhood

In the past, Josh has admitted being "terrified" about becoming a father for the first time because the huge responsibility of caring for his son was sinking in.

He previously explained: "I got to tell you, I'm a little bit nervous. I thought I was going to be good, I thought I was ready for this and I'm a little bit terrified.

"I'm excited and terrified because I'm responsible for this little thing forever. I just got that."

However, earlier this year he spoke of his pride after seeing Fergie's first ultrasound.

He said: "It's very exciting ... [It's] unlike anything you've ever seen. You're like, 'Wow, it's mine.'"
