Los Angeles - Lady Gaga is renting a New York apartment for $22 000 (R220 000) per month.
The Born This Way singer is splashing out the huge amount to live in a duplex penthouse apartment in the 40 Central Park South building, which she is sharing with her boyfriend Taylor Kinney.
Gaga moved into the apartment - which has two bedrooms, a granite chef's kitchen, a wood-burning fireplace, a large marble bathroom and views over Central Park - one month ago.

A fellow resident told Life & Style: “It’s so cool! She comes and goes with all this security. I can't believe she lives here!” There is no doubt Gaga can afford the rent after she recently topped Forbes' World's Most Powerful Musicians of 2013 list.
The 27-year-old singer came first in the annual ranking - which is determined by earnings, social media influence and press mentions - largely thanks to her Born This Way world tour grossing a massive $168million, despite it being cut short due to her hip injury.
