George Clooney's aunt spills the beans about his wedding and reveals who his best man will be!

Los Angeles - Brad Pitt will be best man at George Clooney's wedding.

The Monuments Men actor is set to tie the knot with girlfriend Amal Alamuddin later this year, and his aunt thinks his close friend and Burn After Reading co-star will be by his side to offer support at the ceremony.

Starla Clooney said: "I would say he'd choose Brad Pitt for his best man. They are good friends, I would think that's who he'd choose."

Starla - who works as a non-denominational minister - also confirmed her nephew is planning to marry the 36-year-old lawyer in Italy, with his parents Nick and Nina Clooney planning a trip to Europe to help with the preparations.

She told MailOnline: "I did hear Cincinnati, since it's not that far from Kentucky - that's one of the places they were considering - but apparently Cincinnati didn't win, it's not going to be the place.

"I do know that Nick and Nina are planning a trip over to Italy in the next week or so to, I guess, scope out some stuff."

However, she offered her own services to preside over a local ceremony if the couple decide to have another wedding for those family members who can't travel.

She added: "Sure, I'd do it in a heartbeat!"

Meanwhile, several members of George's extended family were left disappointed after Amal missed his annual family reunion in Maysville, Kentucky, because she was working in London.

Ben Breslin, 55, a cousin of George's, who hosted a big party on Saturday night, said: "When he came in the front door, I was looking around asking 'Where is she?'

"He explained she's a lawyer and apparently she's across the sea somewhere working on a case, off saving the world. It was a shame because I would have liked to have met her."
