Halle Berry ordered to pay child support

Los Angeles - Halle Berry has been ordered to pay $20 000 a month in child support.

Lawyers for the New Year's Eve star and her former partner Gabriel Aubry went to court on Monday, where a family law judge ordered the actress to hand over the sum for the care of their four-year-old daughter Nahla, gossip website TMZ reports.

Gabriel, 36, had gone to court last month to request the sum but the case was adjourned because paperwork wasn't filled out properly.

The former couple - who split in April 2010 - are yet to resolve another dispute over Nahla, as the model is unhappy with Halle's plan to move to France with the youngster and her fiancé Olivier Martinez.

'Right to privacy'

The 45-year-old Dark Tide star has previously spoken about relocating to France, in favour of the country's laws which will protect her offspring from prying eyes.

She said: "Laws that protect children, protect right to privacy. All I want is for my family and myself to have a normal life. When I'm not at work, that's very important to me."

A court has yet to rule on Halle's desire to move.
