Heather Locklear leaves hospital

los Angeles - Heather Locklear has been discharged from hospital.

The 50-year-old actress - who was admitted to the Los Robles Hospital & Medical Centre on Thursday after reportedly mixing prescription medication with alcohol - was released from the facility at around 17:00 on Saturday.

According to a hospital spokesperson, Heather was in "good spirits, smiling and talkative" as she was released into the care of her family when doctors decided she was well enough to return home, TMZ.com reports.

However, the star's family are now said to be keen for her to receive specialist treatment for psychological issues at UCLA Hospital rather than a rehabilitation facility.

In November, Heather called off her engagement to Melrose Place co-star Jack Wagner after just three months, and the blonde beauty has had a turbulent few years.

In 2011, she was arrested, and later cleared, for a hit-and-run accident after hitting a No Parking sign in Ventura County, California, while in 2008 she entered rehab seeking treatment for anxiety and depression.
