Los Angeles - Actress Hilary Duff and former ice hockey professional Mike Comrie have separated after only a few years of marriage, People magazine reported on Friday.
Duff, 26, and Comrie, 33, made the decision to split mutually, a spokesperson for Duff said.
The parents of 21-month-old Luca Cruz want to continue looking after their son as "best friends".
The couple married in August 2010. Duff became famous as the star in the Disney series Lizzie McGuire when she was a teenager. She also was in the Cheaper by the Dozen movies and The Perfect Man in 2005.
Duff also has recorded several pop albums, including Metamorphosis.
