Los Angeles - Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie have agreed to share custody of their son.
The 26-year-old singer and actress, who confirmed she had separated from the former professional ice-hockey player after less than four years of marriage on Friday, has already decided they will have joint custody of their 21-month-old son, Luca, according to her mother.
Susan Duff also hinted that they are preparing to file for divorce soon and told gossip website TMZ.com: "They're better friends than a married couple."
Hilary's mother also insisted that she is still a big fan of Mike, 33, and there are no hard feelings between the former couple, who tied the knot in Santa Barbara, California in August 2010.
A spokesperson for the blonde beauty confirmed on Friday that the duo had "mutually decided [upon] an amicable separation.
"They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time."
The So Yesterday hitmaker thanked her fans for their well wishes on Twitter and wrote: "Mike and I are sitting here, we are so appreciative for all of your kindness & well wishes. Not an easy day but we're getting thru it together (sic)"
