Johannesburg – Hollywood star Hugh Jackman has arrived in Johannesburg to start filming Neill Blomkamp’s latest movie, Chappie.
The Wolverine star will appear in the sci-fi comedy alongside the zef rapper duo, Die Antwoord.
Jackman recently posted a photo from the set of the film on his Instagram with the caption; “Day 1 on Chappie! Vincent is born, rocking the mullet. Working with Neill Blomkamp in SA. This film is rad.(sic)”
Blomkamp, a South-African, is best known for his previous projects that include District 9 and Elysium that starred Matt Damon. Both of which were box office hits.
Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel and Sigourney Weaver will also appear in Chappie.
Plans for Chappie were announced in January 2011 and not much else has been revealed about the plot.
"It's a science-fiction comedy thing, that's as far as I can go with that," Blomkamp previous told Empire.
Jackman also shared a photo of a lion that he took during a safari trip with the caption; “What an amazing trip! Phinda Safari ... Justin, our ranger - extraordinary!”
