Idols' Dave throws tantrum at gig

Cape Town - Idols 7 winner Dave van Vuuren threw a tantrum at a recent Samsung event, reports 2Oceansvibe.com.

Sources told 2Oceansvibe.com that the 21-year-old musician recently performed at a corporate event for Samsung, the major sponsor of the Idols show.

After performing five songs, Van Vuuren reportedly threw down the microphone and scolded the audience for being "more interested in their BBMs than listening" to him.

According to a comment posted on 2Oceansvibe.com, the event took place at ZAR Lounge in Johannesburg.

On October 4 Van Vuuren beat out Mark Haze in the race for the Idols 7 title.

Mark is a far better singer. Corporates should use him instead.

American Idol Winner equals record deals, Money, International Fame, Sports Cars, Mansions. South African Idols equals corporate gigs and a article in the Huis Genoot and not much else. These so called self titled South African Celebs are a Joke.......

Obviously the Idols title has gone to his head, wrong choice made by the public!! Mark would of been a far better choice!

Idols should change the way people can vote for their idols. Every person who votes should only be allowed one vote. Yes, they won't make much money from the voting, but at least we know the idol winner was voted by the majority of people and not 2-3 people with a few thousand rand in the bank they can waste and then vote enough times for one person just so that he/she can be the new idol. Reading this forum, talking to people on the street etc. there is noway the majority of people voted for dave. look what happen with USA idols when chris and adam lambert was the final two finalist. Chris won, but adam lambert is the popular one, and was clearly voted for by the majority.

Dave won (deservedly so) and Mark did not! Get over it for heaven's sake. I have never ever come across such a bunch of sore losers, not to mention the barely literate comments in some instances!

Now this is Diva behaviour :- "I know Idols is over but you just have to laugh at an ex contestant who expected a flight to be delayed while he went looking for the phone he left behind in the lounge. After a lot of public mudslinging from the passenger's side it seems the matter is now resolved. Diva much?" "And they waited for the contestant for 45 minutes, but then left. They couldn't let 186 other people arrive late because of the contestant, and still the contestant tried to tarnish the airline's name on Facebook." Sorry Dave bashers, this is not Dave!

Way to go Dave, giving our boy Mark a push up. People will definitely be hiring Mark now. He's a better singer and a better person.

Dave is awsome and I will say it again he deserved to win and Mark is also excellent but who do you get your information that he is doing better is his CD selling in the stores yet? Why do you people always says this one is better than that one they are friends so get over it. As for Dave walking out maybe the people should not have been playing on their BBMs and actually listend to his singing I think it is rude and would also have been offended. Dave you will always be fantastic to your fans and we will always love you and know that you are a kind hearted person.
